Sometimes lies can lie no more

The smiling girl is a lie
She always was,
But sometimes lies can lie no more...
Now the skin is drawn thin
Over the lines of false expression
Taut and dead-
Like the dreams
She never gave wings to
Dead...all dead...
Her eyes show nothing but pain,
There's nothing to give
Nothing to save
It's all been lost or thrown away...
This girl will never love
She cannot trust
She can't forget.
Tonight this girl feels empty
And terribly alone
But then, maybe she always was
The persons in her life
Just scratches in the wall
Personal graffiti, cotton candy...
Nothing...nothing at all

And this is how she feels tonight
And tomorrow things may change
The smiling girl might yet become
The dream to save this place.
