No Peace

A thin sheen of sweat is all that clothes her skin
Heat enveloping her
Eminating from her
She waits,
She waits,
She waits,
Her thoughts the only things
That keep her here
Of him
She whispers his name
Closes her eyes
Tracks on her cheeks
Closes her right hand
Over her left breast
Feels her heart beating fast
Faster,
Ever faster,
Like her breath
Passing over her parched tongue
And pushing past her dry, chapped lips
Her stomach churning
She hungers
Thoughts of his healing hands,
Gentle caresses,
Passionate kisses,
Promises of a brighter future,
Words of wisdom,
Make her feel so empty,
So alone,
Incomplete,
Something other than herself
Underneath her right hand
She feels her heart slowing
Twisting,
Wrenching,
Feels her breath escape her
To find a more worthy host
Oh that darkness feels hotter still
It's slowly numbing her skin,
Her entire being,
It's overwhelming her,
She sleeps,
And still there is no peace
Forget your perfect offering, there is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in. - Leonard Cohen

  • curled up with a pillow that seem to sate
curled up in the hollow of self sealed fate
    brightening
    darkening
    moving through lonliness and wholeness
    moving from separate angelic oneness
and into the here and now
    but moving
    anyway
a far cry from what it was
    ~all is full of love~
