Not Tomorrow?

Today I'm eating dirt
Today I'm chewing cardboard
Today I'm wearing concrete
It's a gray, dismal, bored
Today it's warm, I'm cold
Today you smile, I frown
Today you shone, I fell
To the filthy, dirty ground
Today you loved, I died
Today you laughed, I cried
Today is just another day
That lives on the promise of a
beautiful tomorrow
Forget your perfect offering, there is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in. - Leonard Cohen

an' all these days of taking an' trying
    to get busy living
    or get busy dying
    or play off another's
    deep seated sorrow
    at midnight today is
    another tomorrow
    It's all yellow.

  • It is guaranteed, that is, the dying
The living is what's got me crying
And I wait with baited breath
To see this wretched day's death
    I'll wait by night
    But come first light
    I'll take my stand
    Tomorrow will be grand

    I think
    I shall ride
    The sharp end
    Of a sharp knife
    Under my ear
    Across and again
    Plunging it through
    My juggle lure.
    Giggle gasp the
    fascinating
    muck gurgles
    in my worthless mouth.
    My cup overflowing
    warms my ancient chin,
    Adding color
    to my fright white dress.
    I wonder…
    Would instinct save me?
    BEFORE I became
    a bloody brilliant success?

    It's all yellow.

  • Don't be sorry! It's the grayness thing, it's okay! :) And weirdness floats my boat so, hey, hey, weird away! ;)

I know I will be my best in death!

They'll suck me dry and fill me with formaldehyde!

They'll paint my face up all pretty like!

They'll put me in my bestess dress!

They'll all stand around and say what a good person I was, even if I wasn't!

    They'll put me on display!

And when they're done, I'll decay!

Hey, hey, hey, what a glorious day!

    ;)

    they'll sew yer mouth shut
    so your jaw wont drop
when you finally find out who your friends are
