Smelled so good.
Tasted so sweet,
On my tender tongue
Flavoured the senses,
And I chew
And I chew
And I chew,
And chew
And chew
And chew,
And the flavour is...
The flavour is...
Oh, how could it...
But I chew
But I chew
But I chew,
And chew
And chew
And chew,
And...chew
And...chew
And...chew,
And...it...fades...
And I know I should spit it out,
But I chew a little longer
Telling myself I still taste something,
Hoping there's some sweetness left,
Wondering if it was ever, really even there,
Fighting for that last chance
A glimmer of taste sensation,
But just a little tease
As I still try to chew.
Now my jaw is hurting
And I've over-chewed anyway.
So I spit.
And it's all slow-motion,
And I watch you fly,
And I hope you will always fly
Because I have to turn away,
Can't bear to see if you hit the ground,
Or stick to the bottom of anyone else's shoes.

Forget your perfect offering, there is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in. - Leonard Cohen

Never get a steak at Applebee's.
You score points by mentioning part of a Star Wars character. You could've put in a "bacca" after one of the "chew"s though
The last line is strong, as are the ones above it.
The subject of this poem sounds like the gum in the middle of a blowpop.
I agree with Radar in that the last line is glorious. Glory be to you!
