I think I lost my soul in a dream...
Being Enlightened

It was a glorious day, I recall.
Misty, crimson skies
burning behind the oddest tree
I ever did see.
It twisted and turned,
and bent and burned,
and you were sitting
beneath it.
There was something in your eyes...
you seemed so alone,
like you had no home,
and you looked at me,
you actually saw me!
I felt a tugging sensation,
a vibration,
that went right through me...
You told me to love,
but when I did,
you looked away.
You told me to accept,
but when our tastes differ,
you called it sacrilige.
You told me to forgive,
but when I asked,
you wouldn't hear me.
You told me of nature,
but where I saw beauty,
you were blinded by abhorration.
You told me to appreciate life,
but where there were trees,
You laid the bricks...
I felt faint
and you caught me,
you got me,
then you smiled
and walked away...
Today I awoke,
tears on the pillow,
and an aching emptiness in my chest.
Misty, crimson skies
burning behind the oddest tree
I ever did see.
It twisted and turned,
and bent and burned,
and you were sitting
beneath it.
There was something in your eyes...
you seemed so alone,
like you had no home,
and you looked at me,
you actually saw me!
I felt a tugging sensation,
a vibration,
that went right through me...
You told me to love,
but when I did,
you looked away.
You told me to accept,
but when our tastes differ,
you called it sacrilige.
You told me to forgive,
but when I asked,
you wouldn't hear me.
You told me of nature,
but where I saw beauty,

You told me to appreciate life,
but where there were trees,
You laid the bricks...

end of story
this one's just awesome, a.p.
so oddly smiling at tremendous sacrifice
i think you were a wood nymph in a few past lives
Thank you, my friend, you are too kind!
Hee Hee! Look at me! I'm a wood nymph! Watch me as I tickle the trees and tip-toe through the two-lips!
these audiences be cob webbed, you know, lol
i love how you wrote this
But then You make me crawl
And I can't be holding on
To what You got
When all You've got is hurt
----
Underneath this smile lies everything
All my hopes and anger, pride and shame
Been missin' you. little one ok?
PastaNazi, you know what I do with spiders--I sit down beside 'em and admire thier webs. "I'm walking in the spider webs, so leave a message and I'll call you back..."
Violet Ray, thank you so much! I read through some of the Atreyu thread(remember that movie "The Neverending Story"--the boy gets locked up in the school or something and reads the story, becomes the story?? That's what the thread title reminded me of. Oooo, the big, cuddly flying dog/dragon, Falcor, was the cutest! ) when you had posted previously and those lyrics, some of 'em were really good! I didn't know what to say at the time and I wasn't sure there was anything I could say, so, I just didn't say anything. I was hoping that you were doing okay though!
definitely got the reggae-ska thing happen'n today, doncha?
catchy!
me too. little one is good, everything turned out ok, thanks.
But then You make me crawl
And I can't be holding on
To what You got
When all You've got is hurt
----
Underneath this smile lies everything
All my hopes and anger, pride and shame
BE, thank you so much for your concern...doing ok now. I never saw that movie, btw...i'll have to check it out.
But then You make me crawl
And I can't be holding on
To what You got
When all You've got is hurt
----
Underneath this smile lies everything
All my hopes and anger, pride and shame
ain't that the truth
But then You make me crawl
And I can't be holding on
To what You got
When all You've got is hurt
----
Underneath this smile lies everything
All my hopes and anger, pride and shame
lucia, merci buckets! So sweet of you to stop by and say hi. Much appreciated!
LOL! Yeah, PastaNazi, I was seeing red, yellow and green yesterday but man, the music's SO catcy (shooby ) and makes me wanna get my groove on.
ISN, I agree, so many greedy f-ers out there...seems it's the want of money (and subsequently power) drives all the good out of some people. It's a shame! Have you seen the back of the Green Disease T-shirt? Now, I don't know exactly what it says but basically it boils down to greed blackening one's soul and it's my most fave tee. I just wish that little blurb about the soul blackening was on the front and in BIG, BOLD letters!
And vibrant, violet, you're welcome. You should rent that movie, especially if you have kids to watch it with, but even if you don't--it's so adorable and I bet you'd just love it!
edit: OH... and Neverending Story is a story you both will absolutely LOVE... I say that, drooling, of course... it's utterly fantastic! You gotta get it and settle in with the little one... no phones, no nothing... you guys will love it. Zozo does
Great effort with this poem
