Frist, plunged, kicking and screaming, into the light,
not knowing left from right,
putty running through the fingers.
Second, together, we were walking hand in hand,
rolling in the caressing sand,
inside one another, tenderly tied.
Third, something stranger, feared as we know not,
'til the day we've gone to rot,
the light returns, we swim the mind.
(Just a little somethin', somethin' I penned after re-reading "The Great and Secret Show" by Clive Barker.
It's a really terrific book, IMO and my little blurb doesn't do it the justice it deserves but I figured, what they heck, I'll post it. Quiddity is the dream sea that, according to the story, we visit 3 times in our lives--once at birth, the next when you sleep with the one you truly love and who loves you the same and, finally, at the end of your days. )
