The Door Is Always Open

It amazes me how strangers
can feel like old friends
in such a short time,
from different places,
our faces
shone with excitement
and curiosity.
We shared stories,
memories
and some a nasty cold. :(
We all larfed,
I barfed
after my drinking got bold. :D
It amazes me, the comfort,
how a full house is a home,
I miss you all already,
your sweet faces,
have places,
shine such warm light
inside me. :)
We have stories,
memories
all because of the greatest band.
We cared,
shared
and lent a helping hand.
It amazes me how strangers
can feel like old friends
in such a short time,
our friendly faces,
our places
shine on, so far, yet so close
you see.

The door is always open,
and welcome you will always be!

:)

Aw, you're makin me cry! It truly was the greatest weekend ever ... it's amazing how much fun you can have with a house full of people you've never met before! I've never experienced anything like it, after about 5 minutes I felt like I'd known all of you forever.

The weekend lives on for me ... I'm sharing the nasty cold right now. It's a small price to pay though, for such memories and 5 wonderful new friends :)

Daaaamn!!!! Sorry you got that stupid cold--that sucks. :( Get well soon!!! Hee Hee! I still can't talk but it actually works for me because I get to be off the phones at my job for a couple of days and just do paperwork.

I'm so glad you had a good time and I can't wait to ride the roller coasters with you soon, 'lil momma!!!!!! :D Springtime can't come soon enough!

    Love ya, sweetheart! :)

    aww thanks BE!

you 2 were the best hosts! We had such a blast and it really sucked having to leave tuesday morning (especially waking up to find i caught the cold, too) I joked to abook last night that you 2 really work for the government and it was your plan to get us up there and infect us! :D which didn't work as we still plan on going to the protests in DC tomorrow (hey, i bet they aren't ever too sick to exploit!)

I've never had such a blast w/ a group of ppl i never met in person that quickly, either. maybe it helped that everyone was pretty much smashed by the time we got there ;)

i only wish i brought my camera in that night to get a pic of that sloopy drunk grin of yours as you lean to the side :)

you both know (as well as hippiemom and vg) that our doors and beds will always be open to you all! not that there's a whole lot to do down here, but asheville is a wonderful place.

thank you all for such a wonderful time. i'v never known a group of ppl like you all :)
    standin above the crowd
he had a voice that was strong and loud and
i swallowed his facade cos i'm so
    eager to identify with
    someone above the crowd
someone who seemed to feel the same
someone prepared to lead the way

    aawwwwwwww, feel the love!

Well, I'd of course have to echo everything everyone else said. Thanks for sharing this fabulous poem (and your house and everything in it!)! You are all so amazing. I'm gonna have to stop at that because I don't like to show emotion in public :).

I'm telling myself that my allergies are bad right now instead of having a cold. But however it shakes out, like hippiemom said, this weekend was worth it.

You're all welcome in NYC, of course!

  • Awww man...that teared me up! I started mssing you guys as soon as we pulled off. I'm not sure if you could really tell bc I'm such a quiet, shy person but I had the time of my life!!!! I really hope you guys could tell, though. It was a long, sad drive home indeed. I will carry those memories with me forever and cherish every second.

Hahaha! Everyone got the dreaded cold (me included)!!!! :D We loved you guys sooo much, we had to take a little bit you home with us! :p

I'm already planning your visit down here out in my head. We will all chip in and rent a fabulous cabin near Asheville. You guys will drag Polaris down here too (he knows the area) and I miss him too. And we will take a kickass rafting trip and hike...then have some drinks among other things next to the fire in our cabin and play that rematch of trival pursuit!!! :D Sound good?? That's just day 1!!
