She cries into her pillow, silently,
lest her children hear her.
But, oh, she is strong,
don't get me wrong,
inside and out,
it's the heart...
It's such a delicate thing,
and the mind
is sometimes
overridden,
overburdened,
overworked,
overwraught,
overturned...
It's so hard to exhale,
she just wants
to hold it all in,
afraid to really breathe,
maybe.
I understand her predicament.
I want to protect her,
save her from all the wrong
because to me,
she is smart,
she is beautiful,
she is kind,
she is giving,
she is funny,
she is sweet,
she is creative,
she is lyrical,
she is all these things
and of course,
so much more!

I can't make it better,
I can only listen
and love her.
Forget your perfect offering, there is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in. - Leonard Cohen

this is great. you say you can't make it better, but if you showed her this poem I think it would be a start :)
  • As they say in my private little depopulated society....uber
The only thing I enjoy is having no feelings....being numb rocks!

And I won't make the same mistakes
    (Because I know)
Because I know how much time that wastes
    (And function)
    Function is the key

Thanks for writing this! She sounds all to familiar to me. It is hard to put on a brave face sometimes but you know you have to. I really like this poem! :o)
Our love must not be just words, but True Love, which shows itself in action,
No one needs a smile more than someone who fails to give one,
After you die...you know how to LIVE!
  • Thank you, sweet souls that you are!! :) It's hard to see my friends hurt and know that all I can do is be a sound board but dammit, I'll be the best damn sound board I can be for them if that's what they need!!! :D
