A glorious day
rained down upon me,
I let my umbrella get turned inside out
and threw it to the gentle hands of the breeze,
it danced like my heart beats
and my feet lightly carried me forward.
"Enough of this sheilding myself
from what nature, naturally has in store for me!",
I thought.
I ripped off my coverings,
every last binding stitch of them
and let them mark my trail,
not that I'd need to go back again,
just that I'd hope more would follow the path.

Reminds me of this time I was with these two girls and we were walking in the rain and I was bare chested with shorts and the girls went down to their bras and shorts. It really was quite interesting and fun to do.You've changed your place in this world!0

'Twas, wasn't it?
(it's not about that day but I like that it reminded you of it, after I wrote it, I was thinking of that day too!

I really like this one BE! It has a nice sense of "freedom" to it. Good read! Our love must not be just words, but True Love, which shows itself in action,

I too enjoyed this BE. Really good writing.0

the phrase open heart only reminds me of the following
so cold
to keep the machines in tune
my clothes an afterthought
stuck in the ICU room
black stitches like stiff snakes
or railroad tracks
designing my chest
lining my fate
I saw him standing
outside the door
and he looked so familiar
as if I should have known him before
the intern laughed
at the nurse's joke
but as the horizontal one

Thank you ladies for being so kind! You're like beautiful rays of sunshine, warming my heart.
LOL! Open heart surgery!Well, Ms. Haiku, I had a good laugh about that!
I liked your poem tag as well.
Whenever I think of the words open hearted, it brings to mind these lyrics from Rush's song, "The Spirit Of Radio"--
"All this machinery
Making modern music
Can still be open-hearted
Not so coldly charted
It's really just a question
Of your honesty"
Whoa? Blast from the past! Hey, hey, Goulet!*tussles the hair on his itchy head* You know, they have shampoos that can help with that.
And hey, maybe take off that woolen touque(sp?) and opt for ear muffs during the winter, silly.
Hope you're doing great!
