Why???????????

The blackness,
it swallowed your little boy whole.
A hospital bed by 11
and singing with the angels by 12.
You,
Mommy dearest,
picking up the pieces
even as everything kept crumbling,
you......kept......picking.......up.......the........pieces
and even found time to smile.
Your insides kept twisting,
the doctor's would untwist
and you'd stay strong,
and get up outta that hosptal bed
to face it all,
with a bounce in your step
and a smile in your precious heart...
kindness to all.
But,
the blackness,
they say it spreads,
and it has wormed it's way back
into you, dear friend.
It's like a vampiric black cloud
that's been constantly hovering,
one with sharp teeth and patience,
biding it's time...
and just when all was going so great...
just when it all was coming together...
it chose to sink it's teeth
into your leg,
spilling it's vile sickness into you.

"I wish I could eat your cancer when it turns black",
spit it out into a napkin,
and quietly dispose of it in the trash.
Instead, my mouth is empty
and my mind's left with the volume turned
WAY UP!!!!!!!!
and the record is skipping
on that part of the song
where the singer is belting out
a lonely and heartfelt,
"WHY???????????"

    I pray for you both as well. I really enjoy this poem although it is very sad.
    Our love must not be just words, but True Love, which shows itself in action,

    I know it's not really a good piece (unlike groovematic's "For T.J." but groove's got it going on, IMO :) ) but it's how I was feeling, some of the thoughts that were racing through my head...just felt like sharing it because it feels better to get it out, ya know?

    All I ask is that some extra positive vibes get sent her way and send some T.J.'s way while you're at it! Thanks all!!!! :)
