(I'd rather not be shopping--a love poem, of sorts. :) )

Seeing the Christmas consumerism crowd,
cram, crash n' cattle-plod
their way through the
over-priced, over-sought, over-rated,
n' overloaded isles,
grabbing, grimacing, grouching n' guffawing...
My flesh crawls as if it were alight
with the billions of legs
of millions of cockroaches,
seas of them
atop
my lids,
my lips,
my legs,
my lap...
languishing in my anguish!
I scramble and squish,
wishing I were home...
yes,
home...
"There's no place like home,
there's no place like home,
there's no place like home",
where we're all alone,
turn off the phone,
lay with me tonight
by the Christmas tree light,
we don't need the fireplace,
your heat will make me alright.

:D

Very nice BE. That must be one lucky person in the last few lines of your poem?
You've changed your place in this world!

  • great read BE
The only thing I enjoy is having no feelings....being numb rocks!

And I won't make the same mistakes
    (Because I know)
Because I know how much time that wastes
    (And function)
    Function is the key
