Let me color your eyelids in
with purples and blues
and browns and blacks
and those kind of sad stripes that crosswalks have.
With a pencil and a pen
and a paintbrush
and with coffee grinds and orange juice pulp,
I will calm you down
into the lake beside the grey shores of Chicago buildings.
I will place you
into pasture-fields and green-goblin fireplaces
as you dance and heave bibles
into leaf piles that Bob Dylan raked.
All the colors of the rainbow
are too easy to predict,
that's why I paint in black and white.
Picasso ruined painting pictures as an art-form,
so I won't do that.
Other famous people ruin famous art-forms too
because they're generally better
at expressing emotion
then the normal piece-of-shit, middleclass
white male.
So why is it that every time I don't get any sleep,
and the window shades are open,
I get creeped out
and my writing starts eyeing the eyes.
