I can do anything.
Reading Rainbow.
Reading Rainbow.
Reading Rainbow.
When you're young.
you drink whiskey to let go.
and when you're young you like wind chimes.
and when you're young you think big bigger big.
Loud Music.
calm.
Loud Music.
calm.
The Spanish music voices from down below.
The Lithuanian music bellows from down below.
The windows are wide open on Friday night.
The air,
Hits you softly.

I didn't think it was about suicide. Have you seen Jacob Lawrence paintings? He paints scenes from the Harlem Renaissance among other periods. The layers of music and people sitting near windows made me think of a Harlem scene. Sometimes the sounds around us are so familiar that they calm us. Reading rainbow is a learning to read series and a lot of the attitudes in the poem seem for a young person, except the whiskey.

Oops, sorry, I didn't realize the author clarified that it was about suicide. I should have looked more closely. Well, I guess it's about suicide, then. I still recommend Jacob Lawrence paintings.
