If in doubt
just walk out.
If you lose
drink some booze.
Take the easy out
'cause it's fun to pout.

Responsibility
is just an old man's term.
Work or Ability?
Nothing is all that firm.

If I want free money, I steal.
More dinner? Take another portion.
You drunk? Someone might grab the wheel
Pregnant? Just have one more abortion.

  • I can imagine Michael Howard reading this out at a Conservative Party Conference.

    ;)

As a bleeding-heart lefty I have a tendency to want to interrogate the sentiments of this piece to the limits of bandwidth, but this isn't A Moving Train. (;)) I think your polemical verse writing is influenced by Rudyard Kipling somewhat, am I right?

:), the "ifs" might be a small indication of that.

I guess conservatism is the least used poetic subject ;).

Well, that depends on how you read certain works of literature. Shakespeare's plays are read across the political spectrum and inevitably present both conservative and radical discourses. The interpretations of "The Tragedy of King Richard the Second" have been politically various and framed within the context of debate; in fact, I'd recommend you read the play and then we can discuss whether there's a political bias in it.

    Cheers,
