Remote Control Car

When I was young
I had some fun
Playing in the street
During the summer heat

I’d race all day
And welcome the stars
Playing in the streets
With my remote control car

Drive it slow
Race it fast
Tap the brakes
Hammer the gas
The neighbors would complain
From their nice Jaguar
So at night I crank my electric guitar

I’d strum all six strings
Until my ears would bleed
My doctor said there’s something wrong with me
I didn’t care, I was a licensee

I’d race all day
And welcome the stars
Racing in the streets
Like I was in Nascar

The police caught me more than twice
Each time I was on thin ice
Somehow they let me go
Their reason, I still don’t know

I’d have to slow down
If I wanted to live
And continue the love
I had to give

I’d race for ten minutes
And reach my limit
Racing to the stairs
In my wheelchair

Now I’m grey and my life was fun
I’d spend time with my grandson
He likes to go out
And welcome the stars
Playing in the street
With his remote control car
