    sincerely,
    you have most likely
aleved me of much "familial anxiety"
at least I now feel like I have places to
    escape into!

    Was the big Escape
from the numb small town claw
    in the mid eighties,
    sleeping, not really
    just always talking
    with my best friend
    about boys, boys we loved
boys we would meet, boys we wanted
boys we'd wed, and music, we would abandon
    boys for the next concert,
in cold wet rains, we peddled pot
to see shows at the Kingdome,
    the Coliseum
    Hanging at Seattle Center,
    the only amusement rides
    were with the stoned
    in and around the corners
    of the lame Fun Forest,
(I'd been to California amusement parks)
    Endless drunken evenings
    in the gold duster
    was freedom
    cruising, dancing
    at the Church,
    in search of the alternative
    and tower meant endless
    dancing,
    downtown
    at Scucci's
    in the street
    on a New Years eve
    countdown, KISW
    Every New Year
    buying
    the promise
    of finding
    a Stairway to Heaven

    For Prescott,
    m. raine
