Religion of Ignorance

Crime is on the rise
No time to take notice
Hunched over a wobbly desk
An agenda full of tasks
With ignorance the religion
There's never need to try
Desires for a better future
Dry up within your mind
It will not be apparent
Until the day of death
Pupils wide, the light appears
Known by most as pride
Wondering why it's empty
The soul begins to rise
And thought begin to form
Settling on the theory
The time alive spent blind
Now want to make a different
But is swallowed in the files
Of non-existent time
For discontinued hearts
That never cared to try
That never tried to care
