Shrinking violet oh so strangely verbose
Even though you've this to me
Like a dog I return
I can't quite figure out why
So tired of this manna
Return me to my slavish depravity

Chorus
Can't quite fill the hole
Smile at the thought of you
The music we made
My juxtaposed lover
Your yoke on the floor

Ruminate my flowers bought your soul
Your lips planted in my head
So ravenous

Verse 2
Baby I loved you, offered up
All but my life
Gaze into those big blue eyes
Totally oblivious to the smoke in mine

There was a day oh so long ago
When you were a harmless sin
Now with my conscience awakened
What with someone knows?
Darkness chokes my soul
One bullet at a time
The wind is blowing cold
Have we lost our way tonight?
Have we lost our hope to sorrow?

Feels like were all alone
Running further from what’s right
And there are no more heroes to follow

So what are we becoming?
Where did we go wrong?
