mind swept

rain flows in and over slowly
drowning a rising stream
vessels challenged on the water
remember when it swept us
and carelessly left us
no one it would ever spare
the ebbing and floating in
the safety of your homemade vest
in some other memory quest
a letter from a family friend
made the day much better
real lovely you won't ever forget
sentiment bestowed upon and here
deja vous or past tourettes
permanent marker of spirit jests
all the world's a captain
tryin to save or destroy the hull
fighting separate wars
meshing everyone together
disaster on a scale of slide
communication barrier buoys
on the wrong distant shores
remember all the words
to the song you knew so well
flowing in and over slowly
through the valley hemisphere
rendering an undertow of the
chorus etched inside the
stern of your mind swept
faithful not to disappear
lay down all thoughts; surrender to the void
~it is shining it is shining~
