fall is in the air on this sunny day
leaves of green turn to gold
a bow to nature's own way
the light before the tunnel
of winter and cold bone snap
sweaters & hockey & state fairs
& many southern road maps
it's december into january soon
a year is a pin prick in its own tomb
stealing your thread little by little
until it is a decade gone
if longevity's not on your side
you better party like its on
and keep reaching out to
everyone you can
watch the travel station
fall to winter's escape test
when you tire of the season
fall is in the air on this sunny day
you can think of many reasons
why it's a dream sequence away
