“This one or that?”

my optometrist questions me over and over
the lens flip back and forth
click, click
sometimes the choice is obvious
one is blurry and the other is not

Other times I’m just guessing
I can’t be sure
both seem okay
I feel like a fake when I say
“Uuuuuuuuhhhhhhh THAT”

But usually I can see more clearly when he’s done
I look through the thick pile of lenses
and things have more definition
my this and that did add up to better vision

This one's good, I like this. Wouldn't change a thing in it.

    Thank you very much. :)

(I always worry you and other people who write real poetry will find the stuff I put up too unstructured to be here!)
