So, I've been thinking

There are so many actions and situations that are avoidable.

For example, it’s just good sense to keep my children away from people who might possibly be pedophiles. It’s just responsible to make sure that poison and guns aren’t in a house with children. It’s a good idea to hold a small treasure’s hand on a steep mountain trail. (I look out for people I love.)

So, why on earth would I not think twice about leaving the scent of blood and a bare neck out for one of those people with sharp teeth? Why would I cut out my heart and serve it up on a platter?

It doesn’t make sense! :D

Apparently, I mistakenly thought that’s what love felt like. That overdone gift. That human sacrifice. I think that illness we’ve been thinking about requires two misinterpretations, not just one. As soon as I saw it that way, the mistake made sense to me.

POison and guns could help in a household where children think like adults.
And sharp teeth can be dulled.

Real love is great. Don't get me wrong. I'm just thinking about something else. Something presented as love that isn't really love and habits that people get into.

Real love isn't always happiness and laughter, but it's real--not eating another person's soul and moving on to another and another.

It's not feeding someone else's endless hunger at your own expense.

I'm sorry that I don't want to paint the whole picture I'm looking at.

The only thing I enjoy is having no feelings....being numb rocks!

And I won't make the same mistakes
    (Because I know)
Because I know how much time that wastes
    (And function)
    Function is the key

Yes. At it's best it is invigorating, not a drain to both parties.

    Light rather than darkness.

I think respect for the other person and respect for one's self has to be a big piece of it.

That's true, but on the other hand, that doesn't mean it's necessary to step into the fire just because it is enticing you with pretty colored fingers. ;)

Well, let's think about it . . .I forgot where I read it written, but somewhere someone said - love is never comfortable - . In other words if the senses are dulled then you don't have love. Now, in order to feel love, we need courage to put ourselves out there, but this very act of courage could force us to give ourselves to those who don't deserve it. It's a catch-22 that always has, and always will make for interesting poetry.

There are cruel people, and then there are people who we just don't click with in a relationship but would make good friends, and there are people who are our lovers. Sometimes when the sun is extra beautiful or when the storms are very great we could forget which is which.

there is no sense at'all offering up one's neck to vampyres
the sense lie in keeping your turtleneck on til you know them, yes?

the rest should follow as naturally as possible, holding dear truth,
    self respect, empathy and passion...
