It was four o’clock
I looked at my watch
made the calculation for the time zone
and wondered how your day was going
did people make a fuss for you?
are you waking up with company?
did you feel loved?
I was having my hair cut
trying a change
if even a small one

actually, I was just wondering how his birthday went!
but memories...they eat me
I've seen it all before,...
bring it on cause I'm no victim.

What a nice thing to say!
Yeah. That's me.
Thanks!
You're most welcome, sweetie! I went to see Mark Knopfler last night and he played this tune and it reminded me of some people from my past. It was like all these ghosts were waiting in the dark to be remembered and they floated out of their hiding place to shine a light of remembrance on my brain. It's strange how a song, or a scent can trigger memories like that. I even had to fight a little choke of tears that welled up in my eyes... I only mention it because I felt like rambling and it kinda fits with the feeling of your poem as I was wondering how their lives were going last night and hoping they were all well.
Rambling is good. I like it when memories pop up like that.
Makes me wonder what my favorite rock star is doing right now:)

I'm glad someone else thinks rambling is good!!! I think it's good to remember people that touched your life, and I think it's the highest compliment to an artist when his/her work can affect people like that.
I would have to agree! Great poem
