I wish
there’d a been a label
somewhere
a warning
about how love can cause mental illness
distress
states of unreality
faintness of spirit
confusion
hope
false hope
euphoria
depression
instability
happiness
mood swings
but there’s no convenient place to put it I guess
Although I suppose it might fit on the bottom of my foot
but
I probably wouldn’t have read it anyway

    i REALLY love your spare style of words justam, soooo well done. i agree too - i would definitely have liked a *warning*....but would've proceeded ahead - ignoring it as well. :p

    On a second hand wooden table
    she placed three empty possessions;
    a pen, a perfume bottle, and a suitcase.

    For days she would pass the table
    and ask herself, "Which should be filled, first?"

    I like the build up to the last sentence, which is the most important line in the entire poem...."I probably wouldn't have read it any way."

    Even when we see the red flags, we generally jump in anyway. It's just human nature.
