(it’s so important)
who can live without it?
Even when we try to ignore it,
it sneaks back in
hides behind a door
only to slip in the room when our backs are turned

While reading,
we might catch a glimpse of the shadowy figure desperately trying to be invisible
yet,
eventually,
we’ll accept his presence

A relenting soul will quietly pat an adjacent seat and invite him to sit down
(Love is a favorite companion after all)
and what could be more cozy?
