I can’t help but think that if I’d been around
you’d have learned to be more hopeful
(I'm pretty good at being resiliant!)
I remember how you didn’t believe
and imagined the worst
and then when the worst happened,
you felt justified
but
if I had anything to say
once upon a day
it would be
that the worst happened when
you didn’t believe that the best could happen
if I’d been around I could have told you
I could have turned it around
but I haven’t been there
and I’m sorry

I go through this same problem. In my experience, it is as good as you think it is the day after you write it. Anything after that is our fragile yo-yo'ing egos.
Thanks for sharing that.
