a string

Look out my window at night
find happiness in the moon's light
don't mention my melancholy, it's slight
tonight
thinking of a day bright
a time of delight
heart takes flight
need to write
something true which might
express the love so
precious it won't go
take me high, take me low
but always simmering below
others fast, me so slow!
move to stand by the door
hear it all, before
I dare to do more
really, it must be a cautious core
which glues me to the floor
yet, I'm nothing if not sincere
loving, hoping, staying here
just for you dear
staying near
until the air is clear
and we're
feeling at home with the star
that lights the way so far
above
holding this love
sweeter than honey
softer than a bunny
brighter than a sunny
day, more valued than money
more serious than funny
but maybe I'm crazy?
her brain, it's fuzzy?
nah, she's just in love, love, love
send her above
the tedious that bore
to float a bit more
