Wounded folks all around

What the hell is wrong here?
Wounded women
broken spirits
sad hearts

what's all this debris?
are we living in a world where emotions are trampled on?
I read all these sad words
and wonder what everyone is doing wrong

This modern world
it's not good for the pure of heart
it's not good for the hungry
it's not good for the insatiable appetites

And here I stand feeling strong again
on the other side
looking out at the rumble

    I know just how you feel. Tender hearts seem to be an easy target and it just doesn't seem right.
