On my own
when I really wanted some company
(at least, I wanted your company)

but what right do I have to complain?
you’re certainly not to blame
for my choice to stay home
alone

I don’t want to whine
or to say everything is fine
either

and love missives I might leave
could be annoying, or perceived
as cloying

luckily, it’s time for my vacation
so for awhile I’ll be resting
(but you know I always love you anyway...)
