Just ask

If you want to know what I’m feeling
ask me
talk to me
don’t hold me at a distance

I don’t know how to break through that
I have been hurt by this
maybe I can read minds
but I don’t trust it at all

I was raised to always doubt everything I noticed
told I was imagining everything
so, here I am, a grown woman
confused by what I see
confused whenever things aren’t confirmed with words

help me out
talk to me
write to me
tell me what you think
‘cuz it drives me crazy not to hear anything

OK, I want to know what you're feeling. I'm asking, I'm writing. I liked it.
"I'd rather be with an animal." "Those that can be trusted can change their mind." "The in between is mine." "If I don't lose control, explore and not explode, a preternatural other plane with the power to maintain." "Yeh this is living." "Life is what you make it."

I'm feeling people are mostly pretty good inside. :)

I find this board to be amazing. Everyone is so welcoming here and when they ask what you're thinking, they are genuine. Thanks for sharing :)

I would have to agree. Most people are good. But PJ fans are all good. At least the ones I have met. It amazes me the people I have met at various shows. So different, yet so similar. All good people. Hope you have had a similar experience.

You know what....I had this revelation that sometimes I make up shit in my head when a person is talking to me that what I take from them is so far off from what they are saying....maybe you suffer from that too--I understand needing "good communication" words have different meanings and contexts I enjoyed your poem...peace

    What a positive response!
    :)

Yes, the people I've met from here have all been even nicer than I expected.

I decipher words quite well. I'm an excellent listener.

What I have more trouble with is understanding unspoken cues. I am never really sure whether I'm reading them correctly.

I get this. :) I have the same kind of problems.. not always sure what people are trying to "say" to me without words.
especially one very dear friend of mine, I'm almost never sure what he means, so I have to ask. luckily he knows it so he doesn't get pissed off.. :D
    but it's tough.

oh, and I really like your poem. :)
"Don't be faint-hearted, I have a solution! We shall go and commandeer some small craft, then drift at leisure until we happen upon another ideal place for our waterside supper with riparian entertainments."
  • You really hit the nail on the head! Wow! :)

Oh, do I know how this feels!

A very truthful poem.. it drives me nuts sometimes trying to read all the clues, things unsaid. But I know its hard to just put it out there not knowing what the repsonse will be.... still I try to be open and honest so that at least I know my unspoken clues are easy to decipher.

I understand this as well. Sometimes I get completely confused.

I am dreadful at trying to read people and I try not to anymore. I need them to be blunt and honest or I may not get it at all and I may hurt their feelings without even realizing it. My sister usually points out when I am thoughtless (thanks sis!) I really enjoyed your poem, I can relate! :o))

The only thing I enjoy is having no feelings....being numb rocks!

And I won't make the same mistakes
    (Because I know)
Because I know how much time that wastes
