What a living doll
not because she wanted to be
not because she looks like one
but a toy, certainly
a living, breathing, writing
doll
put her back in the toybox
can’t let her think she’s alive
no,
she’s just plastic
she’s not real
so we can play anyway we want to
put her in the box
and shut the lid
whew!
that’s better!
now I don’t have to feel guilty
