I like his poems very much. Here's one:

The Modest Achievement

Flossie put the velvet pansies
in a flat dish,
a flat glass dish--because
the stems were short.

But they looked crushed there.
Why now do they
seem so entrancing? Because
among them she

interspersed a pattern of rose-
red apple blossoms
charged to lift and waken
the somber show.
