Most importantly I can feel again
and the blood is flowing and the sprouts are growing
though my timing is truly terrible!
I feel my mind turning to comprehend a contradiction
a surprising something I felt only vaguely before
it's stepping out of the shadows, humble but honest
many long years it's been lurking in the dark
waiting to step forward and be noticed
