My sons are an interesting mix of
me and my husband
the personality traits ebb and flow
within each unique little guy

my angel baby
has grown into a charming boy
delightful, sensitive, intelligent and fun
but he also has a fast temper when he’s tired
and he barks at his older brother when he’s feeling aggressive
and he cries if he feels misunderstood

I can see my husband
and I can see myself
moving within him
and it’s initriguing to see how he’s who he is
I love him immensely
(and I think it's mutual)

I never knew my own dad
I have a few pictures of him
he and my mom were teenage sweethearts
I was told why my mom divorced him
and I know his person was too engaging
for my mom’s comfort
(I have at least three 1/2 siblings out there...)

but, the truth is,
if I’d known him, and he’d raised me
I probably would have loved him
just the way he was
