Living in sound
sometimes I do only that
close my eyes and sink in
right into my heaven
what do deaf people do?
is there no relief from their own dialogue?
maybe that feels okay to them?
I don’t know, but me...
I love to live in the sound of instruments
sometimes I do only that
close my eyes and sink in
right into my heaven
what do deaf people do?
is there no relief from their own dialogue?
maybe that feels okay to them?
I don’t know, but me...
I love to live in the sound of instruments

an orchestra pit
tuning itself, all discordant.
I heard the silver flute toot
and the oboe worry
and the violin shake in its boots.
I heard the cello, so mellow
and the horns richly yellow
and I wished that I had taken more lessons.
I heard an orchestra hum
over the buzz of tinnitus
and I thank you for the sounds -- they're a blessing.
