The sky was black, except for a small hole
that bright bulb
to the left, there was a true threat and
we heard some rumbling with rips of lightening
the kids in the car were delighted
possessing the promise of indoor recess
but I just wanted the lashing and splashing to begin
right away, so I might feel the strength of it all

when she unleashes it upon the world

seems as if she shouts to us
"tremble and shiver before, for I am thy superior Earthmother"

I've always liked to see the raw power which resides in her.

I adore a violent tropical storm. That was one of the best things about living in Texas for me. When the storms came they were so overwhelming!!

Sometimes I'd open the window or the front door just to feel it.

I just go outside and stand in the pouring rain as the clouds above unleash the most fearsome of their powers. Soaked and shivering, blinded by the thunder's strike.
