My mom the business woman
my whole childhood
corporate officer, sharp suits and high heels
too busy to be mom, but I loved her anyway
buying bigger houses to decorate
adding rooms, windows, porches
new husbands
moving again
finally she retired
and now
she's a grammy and enjoys it
she paints much better than she oughta
she takes photos that are like paintings
and then she paints them
she's proof that people can have
more than one life
over time

Her houses always turn out to be her works of art though. Until she started to paint and take pictures, she'd just re-do rooms in her houses. :)

I used to think it was a funny characteristic of hers when I was younger, but now I see it was related to the fact that she's always looking for her surroundings to be more beautiful. That's her talent and she just mis-directed it before.
