As time went by, she
learned to ignore the cranky outbursts
of the man in the bushes
realizing they were more a reflection of
his own discomfort and longing
she knew not to take it too
personally
he probably thought she was
ignoring him but, she knew
he needed love & company more than an
argument
so, she took to sitting nearby
reading or eating lunch under a tree
feeding the squirrels
or smiling with her talkative friends

    "to ignore his cranky outbursts" should be "to overlook his cranky outbursts"
