Leftover from childhood
his belief in magic and
mind-reading was killing him
There was a pattern repeated
hopes of rescue, dashed
Bewildering even the most loving
maidens, his expectations
repetitious in his head:
she should have known!
she should have seen it!
but she was supposed to...
where's the perfect love to save me?
A tall wall and a moat
keeping love outside
countless females tried and failed
tried and failed
some attempted to climb the wall
only to fall
some threw stones and sent
carrier pigeons with notes
some just yelled in despair
Love, so magnificant, can't
take away every bad day
can't make everyone a mind-reader
All the passion, devotion and warmth can't
save a man from himself
Maybe sleep and honest conversation
would prove better medicine than magic?

I'm of the school of thought that a good fight is necessary in any relationship. I feel they keep tension and bad blood from building up. I couldn't be with someone who treated every little quarrel as a life and death situation. Put all of your emotions on the table, and let the chips fall where they may.
"Stunned by my own reflection, It's looking back, sees me too clearly and I swore I'd never go there again, Not unlike a friend that politely drags you down, down, down"

When you see me on the street, yell out "FAVO!!!"

I've been to alot of Pearl Jam shows; So fucking what.

True as it may be, it is also important to know when to shut up. Sometimes it's better to take a step back, reflect, and truly think about what the intention of your words are. In this world of quick fix solutions, silence has unfortunately lost its appeal and validity..
'I want to hurry home to you
put on a slow, dumb show for you
    and crack you up
so you can put a blue ribbon on my brain
    god I'm very, very frightening
    and I'll overdo it'

Yes, being quiet sometimes is better than saying the wrong thing. :)

think about it. It evokes memories of two men I have known, which is why I needed a day to think about it, heh heh....and it evokes memories of two songs that I find haunting: Do The Walls Come Down? by Carly Simon, and Fortress (Around Your Heart) by Sting. Your poem is no less haunting, no less touching. Thanks for sharing it.
    Feels Good Inc.
