And driving through the fog today
trusting the tail-lights of the car I'm following
I started thinking about how it could be
more than just a trip to work
looking at the world as more than routine
it could have been like a movie
science fiction with aliens or time-travel
every car and driver
we disappeared into the fog
maybe we could come out transformed?
that man has got me thinking the world
could be more than it has been
and it made the morning better than it would have been before

in the afternoon we'll go sailing
    perhaps before sunset's call
    or maybe we'll sit bayside
wait one more day or so
this time she may come crawling
perhaps she won't come at all
what if this boat has docked
    for Winter and for Fall..
'I want to hurry home to you
put on a slow, dumb show for you
    and crack you up
so you can put a blue ribbon on my brain
    god I'm very, very frightening
    and I'll overdo it'
