? Behind ?

Behind that drapery
on the other side of that steamy window
there's movement
what are they doing?
what are they thinking?
are they day-dreaming or planning something solid?
are they talking to another soul or feeling alone in a head?
what's over there, in that space?
is everyone curious about what's behind and inside?
I suppose peeping-Pauls and gawking-Glenndas are
I suppose gossipy, spying neighbors are
but what about the average, considerate person
how much curiosity do they contain?
is the curiosity related to the desire to understand others?
do we care because we want to feel part?
