This is such a great poem. You're a talented writer and I wanted to share this with everyone. Thank you so much, Jason. 
You made me smile really big.
In the past year, you have lived quite a life
Seeing a band you had never seen before for 8 crazy nights
You won a trip, you bought front row seats
Even traveled to the east coast and withstood our heat
You dropped a load when you finally saw your Deftones
Vacationed in Hawaii this fall, someday you want to call it home
Along the way we came into each others lives
You have been a wonderful friend to me since then, and that is no jive
So thankful for that fact, your friendship has been a blessing
Made a lot of mistakes in my time, but with you there is no second guessing
Ups and downs have been the words of the day
Just remember I will always let you have your say
Might give you shit now and then about this or that
Feelings that you might share, sometimes leave me flat
Want you to know what you already sense inside
Understand you need to do that yourself and then you can hide
Sooner or later your happiness will shine through
Someday hopefully years from now the memories will still be good
Look back on them and smile as only you could
Today is the day you were born, and I will celebrate
Wishing you all the love I can muster on this special date
Your year ended on such an amazing note
Hearing Jeremy sing Heaven before you, must have given you quite the jolt
So it began with a trip to Orlando and ends with a club show at home
What will the next 365 days bring you, wait till then, for it will be told in another poem
