my curve is quite content
to rest among the reeds
allowing me to watch
the currents shift back
upon themselves

to watch a small bird
dive for food
hear redwings
call across the grass

i sit absorbing sunshine
warmth intermittently removed
by cool fall breezes
shifting missing growing shade
as dusk falls on the valley

i know it comes
winter's short imposition
forcing us out of the grass
and into houses falsely lit

and into holiday's remiss
a sleepy time where we all fit
into blankets where we dream
of summertime
Nosotros nunca escuchamos la voz adentro

  • I like it lifeisworth! But I prefer the cold harsh isolation of winter myself. I like to take a walk along the beach in winter and not see another person at all. Wish I was there today--- a cold, hard, snowy path, all alone, so I could wallow in my melancholy mood. Keep up the good work! :)
