Idle Thoughts

Birds flying throught the air
the wind blowing through my hair
(if the window was open)
The things we think of when we're bored
Life, Sex, Love, Hate
Being high and Being happy
Kinds playing around land mines outside
A rainbow streaking acroos the sky
Gunshots, Screams, Anger, Sadness
This is the world I chose to raise
a family in, what the fuck does
that say about me
You don't have to be dead to experience Eternal Darkness.

    why choose family?
because it is the one thing that keeps the storm outside bearable.

    plus,
if your family gets big enough you can invite them over for a smoke and dance around the coffee table for better weather.

    to the left my friend.
  • what the fuck does that say about me?

What is says about you is that because you are aware of all the evil in the world you will fight until your dying breath to protect your family...no matter what the cost.

"Rudeness is the weak man's imitation of strength". W. Shakespeare

Truthful words are not always beautiful; beautiful words are not always truthful....

I looked, I don't really have any other poems that are any good. They were all written a long time ago. And they sound really juvenile and cheesy.

    Fuck that!!

I have pages of juvenile whining and journal/poem/story entries in two journals. I will show you one of mine if you show me one of yours?

HA don't fear your former poetic self.

I too have journals filled (minor exaggeration) with poetic trash and juvenility with love and romance and colOUR...

I'll START the thread, oh yeah, so we can share our younger and often more tormented souls yearning for the right words that never came...

and I too ask myself why I raise a family in this world. Someday the children will be taught to fight back, and I am raising mine to learn how to do so.

    How to think for themselves.

How to recognize an affirmation and a lie. How to know when that occasional moment when the two are one and the same occurs...

We can only hope to do the job we hope to do. The future will tell.
I'm stepping in front of the gushing hydrant in a hurricane. I'd like to see the traction I keep.
