going up the road my head turns
an automatic gesture to catch any glimpse if you
but none remain there
I can see that
nothing remains
except for the sign on the front lawn
that reads "SOLD"


what made you give up on this place?
is it the same things that over time
have etched the lines into your face?
still afraid you'll not find your redeaming grace?


I wished you'd have come by
just one last time
so that I could breathe you in again
but you don't remain here
can't you see that
nothing remains
except my love for you
