stand up, time to pick yourself up boy
no time to lie around cuz the fires spreading boy
i know you thought your future was on that plane
but you see the smoke and you see the flame
those dreams are gone, but you're still here
when we reach safety, we'll both have a beer

take your anger out on the captain boy
he was the one flying this wreck boy
go over there and spit in his eye
tell him how you feel, and how he should die
but i warn you now before you hit the doors
the face that you'll meet is yours

Your dream was fucked more than you could see boy
clouded by flowers and leaves on the tree boy
but you're both still here that much you should know
just with bruises and cuts that will heal slow
so take her hand, i think you should
just take her hand as a good friend would

  • I like this one, betterman. I like the way you repeatedly use the word, boy. Like the person telling the boy what for is older, wiser and someone for whom great showing of emotion is uncommon. The last two lines are sweet too! :)

  • thank you so much, i am very fond of this one of mine too, and yes, the one character was definitely a "crusty" kind of fellow, a very matter of fact person. Its basically an inner dialogue, one personality talking to another. But thank you for your comments, its very personal to me right now.
