i'd like to welcome you to my lowest
a place where no man should go
its at my lowest when i think of you
and wish for it to not be so

i used you as a guide
as to whom i wished was me
with a heart so warm and pure
with eyes as friendly as can be

but all is gone from you now
all thats left is the shell
down here all i do is miss you
and feel like i'm in hell

so down in the dungeons of thought
is where my mind has been taken
and at the lowest of the low
is where i'm left forsaken

i wish i could escape, i wish i could let go
of the hurt i feel when i see you now
so different from my memory
but too strong to disavow

i know your love is still in me
i know it will never wane
but oh how i wish to see you
like before, once more, to end my pain

i have no chance
its long overdue
but saying goodbye
is the hardest thing to do

these are the feelings i've buried so deep
only met upon the worst of days
when glasses are half full at best
and my mind is set ablaze
