Solution to Millions o' Boots on iTunes/Ipods! + Photoshop Covers

Has anyone had trouble trying to figure out what pearl jam live tunes to put on their iPods or media players without completely flooding them with pearl jam?

after a bit o' thinking I came up with a cool solution that i thought i would share in case others have the same problem.

I've created a live version of every album with covers i have made in photoshop, posted below. (some are quite shit, some i think are decent). so in my itunes/ipod i have only one live version of each song, (my favorite version o' every track, chosen from my many boots. if i didn't have a standout favourite, i chose from the recent tour i went to.)

Listening to live versions in the order of the studio album sounds great. then i add all my bootlegs in full to my windows media player. Now dubbed my Boot player!

here are the links for my covers, even if you don't find this idea helpful maybe the covers could come in handy somewhere!

hope this can help people out the same way it sorted me out!

very good work. somewhat of an effort has been produced before - called the Green Habit project. Isn't an exact mirror of studio albums - but close resemblence...plus includes lots of b-sides, rarities.

good work though. album covers look sweet. i really like the avocado cover.

Out of curiosity, have you used the "best" (in your opinion obv) version of each song, or was it simply random based on what you needed (i.e. I need Black, take it from the first folder you see)? I only ask because I have wanted to do a disc (or 2 or 3) of my favourite versions of songs but havent yet completed it. It is a bit of pain because I also try and consider how they fit together, etc. (don't want the remnants of a story from Ed kinda randomly between tracks). Anyhow. I am a bit OCD.

There was a guy years ago who did Ten Live and Binaural Live. I still have my copy of them somewhere....pretty cool stuff. He seemlessly created 'real' shows out of his favorite versions.

I must have 20 or so PJ Live boots - What I do for the artwork is get a good quality image of the concert poster (off EB or something) and use that as the artwork on my Ipod - and it looks pretty cool as u can see the posters for the tours!

That's what I tend to do - if I can't find the poster then I use a photo from the show.

Some of them are sorta lame, like the VS one. But any one you are interested in for use as a wallpaper i can attempt to resize as i still have to photoshop file. Just let me know :)

I didnt put effort to trim down MP3s of ed rants/gaps at the end either. So its not as smooth as the GH compilation but mines good just for me, cause i find it better to listen to my personal favs in the album order without the all the covers. So my compilations aren't really worth posting.

The best for me is just the version i enjoy the most. i went to 7 aussie shows in 06. so any song that i didn't have a standout favourite i used from there.

some of the version off memory i used were:
    Corduroy - MSG 2 03
    Daughter - showbox 02
    Hail Hail - Ottawa 05
    Cant Keep - Mansfield 3 03
    Light Years - Pinkpop 00

oh and the black was chosen from the 06 tour. the version with the best crowds "do do do do dododo" that i owned (chills) :D
