Candy, we got to get ourselves out of this town
To where the stars shine brightly and nobody's around
Where gun shots don't ring out nightly and no drug deals go down
Candy, we got to get ourselves out of this town

Candy, let's pack what we need and leave the rest behind
You don't have to be scared, put your hand into mine
I know that we're walking a thin, thin line
Let's pack what we need and leave the rest behind

There's a shadow hanging over this town
It's getting me down
Let's go someplace where we can't be found

I can't stay up through the night anymore
I'm so tired of always having to lock my door
Let's go to the country or the ocean's shore
I can't stay up through the night anymore
"I'm a thief, and I dig it"

Nice. I like how the verses are organized like an old blues song. Good imagery, mood.

Suggestion: just call it "Clovis," it's more vague.
I pledge to you a government that will not only work well, but wisely, its ability to act tempered by prudence, and its willingness to do good, balanced by the knowledge that government is never more dangerous than when our desire to have it help us blinds us to its great power to harm us.
