none of these have titles and these are just first drafts and our first time trying to write anything. so be nice. We want to start kind of a folk rock band.
here we go....
the first one:
Far away two people fighting in a field
They wonder if this life is fake or real
Holding guns up to their heads
Soon enough they'll both be dead
While their families sit home and pray
Those soldiers been standing there all day
Mother prayin' for her son
Father loading up his gun
Maybe one day we will see
Everyone's the same as you and me
Nailin' everyone to the floor
What are we really fightin' for
Brother just laughing with delight
As his brother learns to fight
Sister cries and prayin' still
As her brother learns to kill
Two people fightin' for what they don't believe in
Someday they hope that they'll be leavin'
Something that they can never understand
Dyin's not something they had planned
Maybe one day we will see
Everyone's the same as you and me
Nailin' everyone to the floor
What are we really fightin' for
They put their picture in a frame
Tryin' to immortilize their name
But all them soldiers look the same
They didn't know it then, but they died on the plane

The shots were heard for miles and miles
This town is turnin' into hell
Four black men lyin' face down on the ground
Beat so badly they couldn't even yell
They didn't do nothin' wrong
They didn't see it comin' when them bats were swung
It's obvious who the killers were
Two rich white kids who were killin' just for fun
They were arrested and brought down town
Everyone knew they did it but wouldn't say a word
Those two kids had lots of money to bail themselves out
Their fathers were well respected and sat on the board
There were witnesses who saw the killings
They didn't say anything cuz they couldn't believe their eyes
They sat silent on the floor while th etwo men testified
But they pleaded guilty and caught everyone by surprise
"Are you sorry for the crime you done?"
Asked the judge with a voice like a rock
"Yes, you honor," the two men replied
Judge said, "Just give them a warning and free they will walk"
The four black men were brought to the hospital
They died the next mornin' and their mother's did cry
Those two men must live forever with what they've done
They'll be livin' on a beach not thinkin' about their crime
Packin' my bags
I'm headin' out west
Goin' to the coast
Gonna do my best
Got my girl
She's always on my mind
Gonna take it slow
Gonna take our time
Well I hope that you find
What you are lookin' for
But you won't find it here with me
Goin' from town to town
I think we lost our way
Life ain't so hard when
The sun shines all day
I think we can make it if we try
Nothin's ever gonna change my mind
Try so hard to be so good
Doin' what she told me I should
Yes, I hope that you find
What you are lookin' for
But you won't find it here with me
I hitched a ride down to New Orleans in the winter time
Obeying the law and I'm doin' just fine
I used to be a criminal but I'll never cross that line
Nobody ever tol' me that livin' was a crime
Got me a job working from nine to five
Ain't got nothin' to mine name 'cept a dime
I love everything but that God awful Lime
Guess that it's good that it's not mine
I ain't preachin' nothin' 'cept don't commit suicide
I don't believe in anythin' not even genocide
If you don't know what that means, again that ain't no crime
But if war exists, you better hope that God is on your side
Lookin' out beyond the lake at dawn
She was beautiful and gentle like a fawn (we stole that from Bob Dylan, don't tell)
But she still believes
In religion and society
She looked out far in the noon day sun
She gets starry eyed when I look at her
I was a prisoner, a jester, a pawn
I still can't believe that she chose me
She meant the world and more you see
She hangs on every word
And Beautiful like a bird
She tries hard to be everythin' to everyone
But she fell down when tryin' to climb to the moon for me
Tomorrow I hop that this is not a dream
I see our children playin' on the beach
I was close to them but now am out of reach
I gave them both a name
Life is not a game
Don't take it too seriously for you'll be afraid
Of everyone and thing that tries to get close to you
We ain't doin' anythin' it's the children who teach
She took off her clothes
She didn't say much
She was kinda nervous
As I began to touch
I looked her in the eye
My head began to spin
She backed off quickly
I knew I couldn't win
I put on my glasses
To see what she had
I didn't see much
I began to feel bad
She said, "I don't even know your name"
Well I said, "But honey that's okay,
We can make this night last forever,
Just promise that you'll change"
She put her clothes back on
As I begged and pleaded
She said, "It's getin' too late,
And you so conceited"
Just as she walked out the door, I said
"Honey, Please wait"
She said, "Please don't be like that"
We were bounded by fate
Please don't
Look at me like that
I said, please don't look at me like that
If you can't see me well honey, baby that's just too bad
Please don't
Hurt me anymore
Oh I said, please don't hurt me anymore
If I go down dyin', just leave me lyin' on the floor
Please say
You'll let me stay with you
I said, please say that you'll let me stay with you
I tell you darlin' my intent is good, I just need a place to live
Well I been down
For way too long
Oh yes, I been down for way too long
Oh please, babe, if I ain't dead yet pick me off the ground
Your smile
Is as bright as the sun
Yes you smile is as bright as the sun
My heart is full of love for you girl, it'll explode just like a bomb
Why do you look at me like that
You might think she don't love me none
We used to be lover's but then she got fat
Now she weighs a ton
We were out on the town
Dancin' all night til the mornin' dew
I woke up next mornin' feelin' kinda down
I knew I broke curfew
She still smiles like the sun rise
An' her teeth are like pearls
An' I'll lover til she dies
She was a woman, I thought she was a girl
Well I am shallow, yes it's tru
I dig women, please don't shoot
I followed her to her home in peru
Her house it looked like a petting zoo
They kicked us out and we were on our own
We built a boat of cardboard to get back home
The found us three days later inside a whale
Guess we should have built a paper sail
Now we're home and that's no lie
"I want to go to bed," said I
"I feel like I'm about to die"
So I said "get out an' leave"
That's the last time we ever did see
She came to me in a dream
I still believe we were a team
She said to me, "I want your heart,
Cuz I know we'll never part"
"I believe you," said I standing there
About to sit in her rockin' chair
Everything's a little turned around
it's destiny by which we were bound
Now it's over she had to go,
"There's somethin' that you oughta know"
"Do you believe in fate," she said
Turned to me and I said, "Yes"
"The chemistry is fadin' fast, it's too bad we can't live the past"
Now she left me I'm all alone
Broken bones and shattered soul
I'm an aries, she's a pisces
They said to me, "She'll never leave"
I guess they were just pullin' my chain
It think it's plain to see
I'm useless
Without you
I can't believe that she did go
I think of her every time it snows
Cold air flowin' through the trees
But your on the beach with an ocean breeze
It makes me sad when I'm in bed
but all you are to me is dead
I'm useless
Without you
Painted pictures of your face
But you know your a big disgrace
Hangin' over the mantle
Too bad I lost the battle
And you won the war
I'm useless
Without you
